Be Brave Studio
Curriculum Vitae

Tracy B. Brave is a Canadian contemporary mixed-media artist and symbolic visual storyteller, based near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Educated at the Alberta College of Art & Design and Mount Royal College, she holds degrees in Interior Design and Visual Communication, along with certificates in Ceramics and Painting from the University of Saskatchewan.
Tracy began her career as a professional Interior Designer before shifting her focus in the mid-2000s to painting and sculpture. She opened RiverCity Art Studio in Saskatoon, and her work soon entered private collections across Western Canada. A dedicated arts advocate, she has published articles in Vintage Gypsy Magazine, been interviewed by CBC Saskatchewan, and is a long-standing member of CARFAC, the voice of Canada’s professional visual artists. She also founded Route 11 Creative Arts Centre, a grassroots initiative that built a thriving community hub for arts and culture.
In 2018, following the loss of her husband, Tracy traveled to Mexico for renewal and creative exploration. Immersing herself in the colors, textures, and traditions of folk art, she deepened her interest in storytelling and the role of the feminine in cultural expression. This experience infused her practice with vibrant palettes, layered symbolism, and an emphasis on sisterhood and womanhood—elements that continue to shape her evolving bodies of work, including The Runaway Widow project.
Today, Tracy works from Be Brave Studio, tucked into the landscape of the Canadian prairies. There she creates independently while also teaching and mentoring, helping others discover their creative voices. She leads workshops and retreats both locally and internationally, including programs such as The Be Brave Club and Be Brave Imagine. Her retreats have taken place in New Orleans, Salt Spring Island and aboard international cruise ships, extending her vision of creativity as a shared, transformative experience.
